The rooms are well-appointed and the staf is very attentive. The Soleil Boutique hotel offers a cozy and comfortable retreat if you’re looking for a stay in the heart of the city. Booking Soleil Boutique Hotel
Booking the Soleil Boutique Hotel can either be done directly or via the major hotel booking sites like Booking and Agoda. We booked via Agoda where found the lowest rate. The hotel contacted us after booking if we required additional services like an airport transfer which we did. Communication was efficient and quick. The day before arrival the hotel contacted us for our WhatsApp (mobile) number to be able to contact us on arrival at the airport. Although Noi Ba international airport has free WiFi, getting an eSim in advance helps you to Keep Connected from the moment your plane touches the ground.
Location of the Hotel
Conveniently situated in Hanoi’s District 1, the Soleil Boutique hotel benefits from a central location that offers easy access to the city’s attractions. You can easily explore the nearby streets and experience the atmosphere of the Old Quarter. We enjoyed restaurants like Quan An Ngon and Michelin Starrred Tam Vi which are only blocks away. The famous train street is literally around the corner.
A short Grab ride takes you all other Hanoi attractions like the temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, the Water Puppet Theatre and the different museums and markets. A particularly colorful and enjoyable market is the Old Quarter’s night market which takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and is within walking distance. Whether you’re interested in immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere or embarking on sightseeing adventures, the Soleil Boutique hotel serves as a practical base for your stay in Hanoi.
Hotel Reception
As already mentioned above the hotel reached out to us before we arrived. The pick-up from the airport was smooth with the driver waiting for us with a name sign and we were in the hotel chartered car within minutes. Reception at the hotel was also efficient. Staff at the reception are very friendly, helpful and constantly inquiring about the quality of the hotel services. The can also help you out in organizing transport, excursions or other practical matters.
Hotel Rooms
We stayed in two of the hotel’s classic room which is their most basic room. The rooms were well decorated had large bathrooms (one with a huge shower, the other with shower a bath) with amenities including slippers and bathrobes. The room also featured a minibar, coffee and tea making facilities and a safety deposit box. The boxspring beds were comfortable and not as hard as you sometimes encounter in Asia.
Soleil Boutique Hotel Facilities
The hotel offers a restaurant (see below), a rooftop bar, swimming pool and a Spa. Both the rooftop bar which is next to the swimming pool as well as the pool are open to 10 PM.
Restaurant Nion
The restaurant which is situated on the first floor serves breakfast, lunch and diner. Breakfast features Asian as well as Continental options and is available from 6-10 AM. The lunch and diner menu of the restaurant also offers a range of Vietnamese and Western options including soup, salads, pasta, sandwiches, rice and noodle dishes.
Other Services Offered by the Hotel
In addition to the restaurant the hotel also offers room service. The room service menu is the same as the restaurant menu. There’s also a Spa in the hotel’s basement offering different massages and treatments. Furthermore the hotel offers excursions, travel and transportation services. You can easily book (overnight) excursions to Ninh Binh and Halong Bay. We booked our next hotel in Halong Bay and cruise ourselves but used the hotel to book a private transfer to Halong Bay at a reasonable price. A comfortable modern 7-seater was provided for our journey.
At checkout Mia who works at the reception inquired about our further plans and offered to welcome us back for storing luggage and to freshen up (shower) after we came back from 2 nights Halong Bay and before we took the night train to Hanoi. This was a real welcome stop before taking the night train. Mia also took care of our transfer back from Halong Bay to Hanoi.
Conclusion
The Soleil Boutique Hotel offers a real comfortable stay in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The room and facilities are great but what really stands out is the friendly and helpful staff. We would certainly recommend the Soleil Boutique Hotels as the place to stay in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
